Truly worldwide web

A few things have happened this week that have made me shake my head in wonder at the magic of the internet, and though they don’t have much to do with the kids, I thought I’d mention them. Last week I wrote a column for the Guardian about naming children after footballers, having given Josh the middle name Zico. This was picked up by a blogger in Brazil, who linked back to this blog, and was also sent by someone who read it over here to an old friend in Australia who I haven’t been in touch with for years and who also named her son Zico. Then I got a comment on my wine blog from the owner of an American vineyard who produced a wine I particularly liked, thanking me for my positive remarks. Word gets around, basically.
